Get Some Great Sleep

Since sleep deficiency is also associated to increased amounts of pressure, worry, despair, and pointless risk taking, a few easy modifications in your  lifestyle can help avoid these effects. A good night’s rest should be the first action towards a safer, better, and healthier life.

Try some of these methods over a month’s time to see how your body changes and what will help your individual situation the most. Be as steady as you can possibly be . Here are some guidelines to help you get the sleep you need and deserve:

  • Stay out from in front of your television or computer at least an hour before you want to go to sleep
  • Don’t eat right before you go to bed. We recommend that the last time that you eat is at most two hours before you go to sleep. The body has to have time to metabolize the food and it will rest better afterwards.
  • Try listening to soft music or light nature sounds. This works for a lot of people, many people find the steady sounds to be very soothing and allow them to drift into sleep a lot faster. This also helps the mind to release the stress of the day as there is nothing you can do about it now.
  • If outside sounds are an issue for you such as noisy neighbors dogs or kids try ear plugs if the noise is fairly loud. If it is white noise I suggest a fan. The receptiveness of the constant soothing noise can help as well.
  • Get in a warm bath and relax. The heat will sooth your muscles and put your mind at rest for a night of relaxation.
  • Read an entertaining book by yourself in a quite area. I do not suggest reading in your bed.
  • Exercise early in the day or mid day is a great way to wear your body out so it seeks the sleep as a method of recovery. If you do that it also has many other health benefits.
  • Stay away from tobacco and caffeine. Tobacco actually increases your metabolism and makes it a lot harder for your to fall asleep.
  • Write down all the issues you have financially, personally, or any other aspect of your life right before bed. This will help your sub conscious mind realize that you cant do anything about it now and will pick up with your problems in the morning.
